First published in 1960, this colorful, whimsical book by Tove Jansson is a classic of Finnish children's literature! Poor Toffle is lonely, and too frightened to stay home alone any longer - so he sets out into the world. Toffle watches as Mymble, My, Snufkin and other characters from Jansson's Moomin Valley enjoy life, but is too shy and fearful to join in. Finally Toffle hears of Miffle, who is scared and lonely, too. He finds the courage to rescue Miffle, and gains a special friend.
This edition is by the Finnish publisher, Schildts and Söderströms, and features a sturdier cover material than the most recent North American edition.
